It's getting hot recently, and heat always an issue for girls with long hair. That ponytail you've been rocking for years? Kinda boring! Instead try these unusual ways to keep your hair off your face when the heat is on.

1. Twisted Top Knot

1. Blow dry your hair with a round barrel brush, without making it sleek straight. We want some texture and waves in this look! 2. Part your hair halfway into a tight ponytail on the top of your head and secure with an elastic. Create a second ponytail with the remaining hair next to the existing ponytail (I have ALOT of hair, so divided into three ponytails) 3. Divide two separate sections of one ponytail and begin twisting the two strands. Secure with an elastic at the end. 4. Repeat with the other ponytail, twisting two divided sections. Tip! You may need a helping hand to hold the first twisted ponytail, or use a clip to hold it in place while you twist your second ponytail. 5. Take the two twisted ponytails and continue to twist and wrap around the base of the ponytail, forming a texturized top knot! 6. Bobby pin the base to secure them in place.

2. Cotton Candy Bun

  1. Begin with your hair in it’s natural texture. This hairstyle works best if you begin with a middle part, but you could do a side part as well.

  2. Pull all of your hair into a side ponytail.

  3. Section the hair above the ponytail into two parts.

  4. Pull the ponytail backwards through the hole you just made.

  5. Gently tighten the ponytail to make sure it’s secure

  6. Gently pull the hair above the ponytail to loosen it up a little.

  7. Wrap another ponytail around the hair about 2 inches below the one above it(depending on how thick your hair is), and make another hole for the hair to go through.

  8. Pull the hair through and gently pull just like you did before.

  9. Continue doing this until you reach the end, and… voila!

4. Tuck and Cover
